About Me

I've been drawing and painting since 2008 when I joined the local art group. As a teacher of technology, I have always had a pencil in my hand and I suppose that and my engineering background leads me towards urban sketching and straight lines! I still travel everywhere with a sketchbook close by.
I also love to paint animals but human portraits baffle me. As my art has developed I have tried many media, but always seem to come back to watercolour which I love. My other passion is digital art and I have produced many pieces by drawing directly onto a tablet device.

The Virus pandemic hit the studios hard and we all had to move out of our spaces and work from home. I was determined that this wasn't going to be a baron time art wise, so I began to record the social distancing through a series of sketches from photos taken on our daily walks. This culminated in over 100 pieces which I am currently compiling into a journal type book. This is now away for the first print and final proofing before being generally available soon.

The artists are now back working in their studios and personally I have been working hard on renewing my skills and looking at a new colour palette. These works can be seen as ever on my Facebook page (link at the top of this page) and we are hoping to be able to welcome visitors back to our little piece of heaven very soon....with restrictions of course.

To see the weekly exploits of us all, please have a look at the link at the top of the page 'Studio Life' which is my weekly studio blog. This goes live on Sunday afternoon and just records what we have all being doing.
