About Me

I've been drawing and painting since 2008 when I joined the local art group. As a teacher of technology, I have always had a pencil in my hand and I suppose that and my engineering background leads me towards urban sketching and straight lines! I still travel everywhere with a sketchbook close by.
I also love to paint animals but human portraits baffle me. As my art has developed I have tried many media, but always seem to come back to watercolour which I love. My other passion is digital art and I have produced many pieces by drawing directly onto a tablet device.

Emerging from Covid-19

As we all seem to be coming out of the effects of Covid we still have our fingers crossed that another lock down or further restrictions won't hit us during the autumn and winter.

The artists are now back working in their studios working hard to prepare for our Open Studio events on the last Sunday of the month on the run up to Christmas. We are always open however, so if you are near the Haworth Art Gallery in Accrington, you can just pop in and see us. Personally I have been working hard on my local sketches both in watercolour and on the iPad. My colour palette has been drastically reduced and my latest work can be seen as ever on my Facebook page (link at the top of this page)

iPad Workshops

I am also planning on restarting my iPad workshops during November. Watch out for this on my Social Media streams and on here.

To see regular exploits of us all, please have a look at the link at the top of the page 'Studio Life' which is my studio blog. This goes live at least once a month and just records what we have all being doing.
